- Series: Be Wise - Practical Wisdom from Proverbs
Further Reflection, Discussion, and Application
- When have you experienced the greatest amount of community and what was that like?
- Review some of the Proverbs on this theme – 13:20; 18:1; 12:26 – why are those people that we are closest to so important? (Compare 1 Cor 15:33.)
- Proverbs mentions a number of types of people we should avoid or be cautious with in relationships. Are some of your close connections pulling you away from wisdom and godliness? If so, what will you do about that?
- Who are the people that bring elements of Prov 12:1, 15; 15:31-33 into your life? (There may be some of those in this group.)
- How well are you listening to / heeding their counsel?
- If you do not have those people in your life, what might you do to seek them out (pray, ask someone, get in places where you can make these connections, etc.)?
- Who might you express gratitude to for being a wise friend?
