Discussion Questions
- Read Galatians 2:11-16. How would you summarize and recount this encounter between Paul and Peter?
- What change did Peter make and, more importantly, why did he make that change? How were Peter’s actions, and the actions of those who followed him, “hypocrisy” (v13)?
- Where might your life be out of line/step with the gospel? What are the challenges/struggles that you are facing at this point? How does the gospel connect to those areas? (Related to the message this week – that we are to live in line with the gospel – I recommend Tim Keller’s great article “The Centrality of the Gospel” it can be found here: http://www.redeemer2.com/resources/papers/centrality.pdf.)
- Where does fear (v12) of what others think have a tug on you? How could living in line with the gospel help you overcome this peer pressure?
- Both inferiority and superiority (issues here in Gal 2 and in us as well) are out of line with the gospel. How can the gospel transform this area in you?
