Further Reflection, Discussion, and Application
  1. Review Hebrews 6:9-20 (especially v13).  How does this passage serve to refuel hope (for the original readers and for you)?
  2. Talk about the connection between hope and security.  Do you agree that ‘real hope makes us really secure’?  Where do you see that?
  3. Are you a person that banks on promises?  Why or why not?  What does Hebrews 6:13-20 say about God’s promises and their connection to our hope?  How do you respond to God’s promises and what difference do they make in your life?
  4. Reflect – and discuss – a bit more the idea of an anchor to our souls. What is the anchor this passage is talking about?  How does this serve as anchor in your life / soul?
  5. How do we receive this anchor of hope (and security)?
  6. What difference does this anchor (security) make in your life?  How does that impact you and how does it show in your life?
  7. These weeks on hope we’ve ended the services with the following verses:  Rom 15:13; 2 Thess 2:16, 17; Rom 5:5; and 1 Peter 1:3.  Pray for one another in light of these verses.
