Further Reflection, Discussion, and Application
- Review Hebrews 6:9-20 (especially v13). How does this passage serve to refuel hope (for the original readers and for you)?
- Talk about the connection between hope and security. Do you agree that ‘real hope makes us really secure’? Where do you see that?
- Are you a person that banks on promises? Why or why not? What does Hebrews 6:13-20 say about God’s promises and their connection to our hope? How do you respond to God’s promises and what difference do they make in your life?
- Reflect – and discuss – a bit more the idea of an anchor to our souls. What is the anchor this passage is talking about? How does this serve as anchor in your life / soul?
- How do we receive this anchor of hope (and security)?
- What difference does this anchor (security) make in your life? How does that impact you and how does it show in your life?
- These weeks on hope we’ve ended the services with the following verses: Rom 15:13; 2 Thess 2:16, 17; Rom 5:5; and 1 Peter 1:3. Pray for one another in light of these verses.
