Discussion Questions
  1. How do you feel when someone else lies to you (your kids, spouse, boss, etc.)?  Why?
  2. Which of the Proverbs most motivate you to tell the truth?  What other biblical passages guide you in practicing truth telling? 
  3. Describe an example of telling the truth that you knew was pleasing to God; one where a lie was obviously displeasing to Him.
  4. Mention an example of telling the truth in a way that was good for others – maybe when someone said a hard thing to you that you needed to hear; and a time when lying was damaging to others.
  5. Explain how speaking the truth has been good for you; or lying has been destructive for you/the one telling the lies.
  6. What are some of the scenarios where you are most tempted to not really tell the truth?  What do you think would help you in these situations to tell the truth?
  7. What can/will you do to practice telling the truth?  (To say it another way:  what application will you make?)
