Women
Upcoming Events
Our desire is to draw women into a deeper relationship with God and other women through small group studies, social events, and compassion opportunities.
Groups for Women
Women's Groups encourage spiritual growth and inspire significant relationships. They provide an opportunity to connect with other women while getting to know yourself, the Bible, and God on a deeper level. We have a variety of Groups, so check them out and find one that’s a good fit for you. Let us know if we can help!
Cheryl Brown
Administration and Hiking, Biking & Liking God Events
Cheryl started attending SunHills in 2004 shortly after moving to El Dorado Hills with her family. Through a series of life experiences, God has repeatedly and faithfully demonstrated His great love, grace and compassion, and Cheryl believes that God let her go through those things so that she can then be a comfort to others (2 Cor 1:3-4). In 2007, she joined the Women’s Ministry team and in the course of her administrative and 'Hiking, Biking & Liking God' responsibilities, she especially enjoys connecting with other women and helping them feel welcomed into our church family. Cheryl enjoys spending time with her three children, outdoor activities, music, fellowship, and God’s beautiful creation.
Cheryl Rouse
Compassion Ministry
Cheryl’s faith journey began as a child watching her father play the organ and her mother sing in the choir in a Cathedral in San Francisco. At age 5, after the death of her father, Cheryl’s family relocated to Sacramento where their church attendance faded into Christmas and Easter. When Cheryl and her husband, Rip began their family they started attending SunHills and it was at an Easter service in 1993 that Cheryl heard the message of Jesus and understood for the first time that God truly loved her and had been in pursuit of her to know Him in every way possible. As she sought to strengthen her faith, she stepped up to teach preschoolers in Sunday School and as her children grew, she moved up to the 4th and 5th graders, then took on the commendable task of overseeing SunHills’ Vacation Bible School ministry. She moved on from there to serve in our high school ministry alongside her husband, Rip. Through the high school ministry – Cheryl and her family fell in love with missions. Her first mission trips were with the SunHills youth teams during spring break serving for a week in Mexico. After Rip's passing in 2010, Cheryl took a huge leap of faith to follow God’s prompting and took her children and a team from SunHills on a mission trip to Kenya, Africa. Cheryl is excited to serve in the compassion/missions area and looks forward to sharing those opportunities with others here at SunHills.
Elena White
Prayer Ministry
Elena serves on the Women’s Ministry team here at SunHills as coordinator of our prayer ministry - a small but mighty team of prayer warriors who pray for the needs of the women at SunHills and beyond. Elena, her husband Terry, and their two grown boys, Brandon and Michael, have been members of SunHills since 1995. For many years her family has served in the hospitality ministry. They continue to have a heart to make and serve meals for those in need. Elena says that serving at SunHills is truly a gift and honor, that she is blessed by those who serve alongside her, and that her faith and dependence on the Lord has grown deeper as she continues to serve Him. Elena and Terry will be welcoming their first grandchild this September!
