Children
Our Purpose in Children's Ministry - We want children to know God, to love Him, and to begin growing in their relationship with Him. Through worship, Bible teaching, mentoring, and hands-on activities, we present the truths of God’s Word in a relevant way to kids.
Jill Vogel, Director of Children's Ministry

Jill has been actively involved in Children's Ministry since 1999. Her family moved to El Dorado Hills in 2005 and she joined our Children's Ministry staff the following year. She leads our Elementary, Pre-school, and Nursery programs. She grew up in the Bay Area and studied Communications at Cal Poly, where she met her husband, Kent. They have been married twenty-three years have three sons. Jill is currently finishing up her AA in Child Development at Folsom Lake College. She believes each child is an individual and learns in his/her own way. She is creative in her teaching and has a passion for helping children see God's Word come to life.

Sunday Morning Children's Programs
9:00 and 10:45
Bright Avenue
Kindergarten - 3rd grade (first service), Kindergarten - 5th grade (second service)
We want kids to see how God’s Word fits into their lives, to learn how to talk with Him, and to build lasting friendships with each other. Each month we explore a new "Big Idea" - a virtue that God can use in us to change the world around us. Some of our past "Big Ideas" have been honesty, respect, and patience.
We also want all children to internalize three basic truths as they grow in their relationship with God:
- I need to make the wise choice.
- I can trust God no matter what.
- I should treat others the way I want to be treated.
Edge 45
4th and 5th graders (meets during first service only)
Edge 45, a program specifially for 4th and 5th graders, meets during first service. It’s an opportunity for kids to connect with each other, grow in their relationship with Christ, and see how God’s Word applies in their lives, while having fun with activities geared to their age.
Sunshine Street
Birth - preschool (both services)
We believe that it is our responsibility to introduce children to their Heavenly Father. Each week the children learn a Bible story and participate in fun, creative activities that teach the one key truth for that month. While they are in Sunshine Street we want them to know:
- God loves me.
- God made me.
- Jesus wants to be my friend forever.
