It’s been great to move through this current series, The Questions Jesus Asked, and be involved with Jesus and His heart for what life is meant to be.  Though we still have two more Sundays to go, we obviously didn’t cover all of Jesus’ questions and teachings.  My hope is that this has whetted your appetite to read more in the gospels and listen more attentively to Jesus’ questions and teachings.  Here’s a preview of our upcoming Sundays:

  • June 7   I’m especially excited about this one! We’ll be looking at Jesus’ heart-wrenching and passionate questions as he faces the Cross.  We’ll structure the service a little differently as we respond to this message and take Communion.
  • June 14   This will be the final message in the series on Questions Jesus Asked and will focus on the hope that Jesus offers.
  • June 21  We’ll celebrate Father’s Day with Dave Lyle speaking.
  • June 28  We’ll begin a 4-week series on PRAYER.  Prayer is one of the areas in which most of us can and want to grow.  We’ll be drawing these messages and lessons on prayer from the book of Acts – as we see what happens when Christ-followers engage in prayer.  Looking forward to it … 
SUMMER Events/Happenings

There are some big events coming up VERY SOON including:

  • SummerBlast, June 28-July 2 - Contact Jill at the office if you can help in this MEGA children’s event!!!! Sign-ups are happening now and also don’t forget to invite other kids and families to participate in this great week.
  • Baptism, August 23 - Are you interested in taking this important step in going public with your desire to follow Jesus?  If you have not been baptized, we encourage you consider this opportunity to do so. If you are interested, or even just curious for more information about this, please call the church office or email Heather at .
  • Be the Church, August 30 - Be the Church rides again!   Glenn Richard is heading up this SHCC effort to let our community see God’s love IN ACTION.  The following Sunday, September 6, will be a celebration of what He did and what we learned, as we rolled up our sleeves and served together.
GIVING/Budget Update

As you may be aware, we have been continuing to watch the budget closely and prayerfully.   We had an informational meeting for you, as a church family, to help you be aware of what the Board of Directors is doing in giving oversight to this whole area of finances.  We are extremely thankful for the generous and sacrificial giving that many of you faithfully practice.  We feel the privilege and responsibility of managing these resources well for the advancement of our priorities in Loving God, Loving People, and Living the Mission.  We (staff) are doing our best to keep spending down and continuing to watch and plan for keeping on track with our budget and giving.

Please pray about your part in giving financially to the Lord’s work through SunHills – it is about more than just money and even more than just the ministry of SunHills; it has to do with each of our hearts.  This topic of money was the focus of the message on May 24 (Jesus Questions Money); if you missed it, we’d encourage you to take a listen.  You can listen from this site or download to your computer - just go to the Messges tab under Resources.  Thanks again for joyfully participating in the Lord’s work through giving!
