SUMMERBLAST

We’ve just come off a great week of Summer Blast!  Thank you to Jill and all the others who helped to make it a great week for the kids and for our church family!

LIVE THE MISSION

We are gearing up for Be the Church (BTC) on August 15th – a day of loving and serving our community. We will not have regular services that morning but will meet briefly and then be sent out for various projects, including light construction, painting, and visiting with seniors.  If you haven’t signed up yet, you can do so this Sunday.   For more info contact Reggie Adams.

We are continuing with our Hosamane Project (HP)as well which was introduced on June 20.  We have made the commitment to provide one meal per day for 50 children in Hosamane.  The cost of this sponsorship is $12/child/month or a total of $600/month.  Would you consider giving $12/month specifically to this to feed and minister to a child in need?  In addition, please pray for Basavaraj and Mangala – the husband and wife team that is serving in Hosamane.

Both of these (BTC & HP) are exciting opportunities; thank you for your prayers and participation as we live the mission!

WORSHIP

We are tremendously blessed by the great leaders and servants we have here in this regard. Thank you worship teams (including tech teams) for all you do to serve and lead and use your gifts in this area. It has also been good to have some guest worship leaders and we have guest leaders again on July 11, 18 and 25. A few of these people have engaged in initial interviews with our worship search team (WST) and are coming so that we can have them here to lead in worship as we evaluate how we proceed. Overall, I am encouraged about our process (and I’m thankful for our very capable WST) and what is happening in the interim period with our worship ministries.

STUDENT MINISTRIES

As some of you have known, Kevin has been out since June 22 due to personal emergency.  We announced together on Sunday that he is on a paid leave of absence through the end of July.  We as a church family can provide prayers, support, and love for him and Vanessa during this time.

We also care about what is happening for the students. A few quick updates here:

  • Youth group programs will continue on Sunday morning and Tuesday and Wednesday nights.
  • Our students and leaders leave for Hume this Sunday (July 11)! We have a great group of students and leaders.  In addition to the cabin leaders, Jill Vogel and Michelle Haakenson will go to provide leadership support and encouragement for this week.  Thanks for remembering them in prayer throughout the week.  (Also note that there will be no Impact or Connect on Sunday, July 11 and no PowerLine or Wide Awake on July 13 and 14.)
  • After Hume, our Tues/Wed night programs will resume on July 20 and 21.  Our existing student teams will continue providing leadership for our weekly programs.  If you are interested in working with students and helping out with our student ministries, please contact .
PROVERBS – “Be Wise”

We are continuing our series in Proverbs; we’ve been seeing specific areas where this portion of God’s word calls us to “be wise”.  If you’d like to listen to messages in the series that you missed you can find them here on the website.  Click on the links to the right.  Also, many of you have been reading a chapter of Proverbs a day – keep it up for July as well.  Read whatever the day is – so for today read Proverbs chapter 7.
