Our Beliefs
- We accept the Bible in its entirety to be the inspired Word of God, without error in its original writings, the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men and the final authority in all matters of faith and practice. (2 Tim. 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:16-21)
- We believe in one God, creator of all things both visible and invisible, who is infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. (Deut. 6:4; Matt. 28:19; 1 Cor. 8:6)
- We believe that Jesus Christ was both fully God and fully man, having been conceived supernaturally by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. We believe He died on the cross as a substitutionary sacrifice for our sins according to the Scriptures, was buried, arose bodily from the dead, was seen by many, and is now our advocate with God the Father in heaven. (Is. 7:14; John 1:1-14, 14:9; Col. 1:15; Phil. 2:5-8; Matt. 1:18-25; 1 Peter 2:24-25; Luke 24; Heb. 4:14-16; Acts 1:9-11)
- We believe that the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to explain and unfold the reality of the person of Jesus Christ; and during this age to convict men of sin, regenerate the spirit of the believing sinner; and then to indwell, guide, instruct, and empower the believer for right living and dynamic service for Christ in the world. (John 16:7-15; 2 Cor. 3:18; Acts 1:8; Gal. 5-22-23; John 7:37-39; John 14:16-20)
- We believe that man was originally created in the image of God but willfully chose to reject God, fell into sin, and is therefore lost. Such being the case, human beings can only regain intimate fellowship with God and salvation from eternal judgment through personal repentance from sin, the placing of their personal faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and the subsequent regenerating work of the Holy Spirit. (Gen. 1:26-27; Rom. 3:10-24; Rom. 5:12-21; John 3:3; John 3:16; John 10:27-29; Acts 13:38-39; Acts 4:12)
- We believe that the true church is composed of all people throughout human history who have placed their personal faith in Jesus Christ. These people have been joined in a unique relationship with each other forming a new society of people called “the Church” with Jesus Christ being the authoritative leader of this new community of people. (Acts 2:41-47; Eph. 1:4-6, 13-14, 22-23, 2:1-22, 5:25, 32; 1 Cor. 12:12-27)
- We believe that only those people who have placed their personal faith in Jesus Christ, and are thus regenerated by the Holy Spirit, shall be eligible for formal membership in a local church. (Acts 2:41-47)
- We believe in the personal and imminent return of Jesus Christ to Earth again to judge the world and set up His eternal kingdom. This personal return has a vital bearing on the personal life and on the service of each believer who follows Him. (1 Thess. 4:13-18; Acts 1:11; 1 Thess. 5:1-11; Rev. 20:1-6, Titus 2:11-14)
- We believe in the resurrection of the dead - the resurrection of believers to everlasting life and joy with the Lord in heaven, and the resurrection of unbelievers to judgment and the punishment of eternal separation from God in hell. (1 Cor. 15:12-28; Rev. 19:19-20; 2 Thess. 1:7-12; 2 Cor. 5:1)
