Read Exodus 3:1-15

We’ve enjoyed reading together in the prior weeks, and hope that you have as well. Reading Scripture as a family cements your faith and deepens your relationship with God. As Dan mentioned on Sunday, Exodus 2 and the beginning of Exodus 3 cover a span of 80 years (Acts 7:23, 30)!
The Hebrews have been in bondage to the Egyptians for over 400 years by the end of chapter 3. Moses has spent the past 40 years laboring under his father-in-law Jethro until he is met by an angel of the Lord in the form of an inextinguishable bush.
Read Exodus 3:1-15. As you read, please consider these questions:
- What specifically makes the ground holy in verse 5? How do you define reverence for yourself? Does reverence play a role in your worship?
- Focus on the personal nature of God’s words in verses 7-10. God see’s the Hebrews affliction and is going to act in accordance with His will. How do you see God’s affection, foresight, protection, guidance and blessing in this passage?
- Define “I AM WHO I AM.” Looking at Hebrews 13:8 may help.
